Services for Young People

In addition to the Torbay Sexual Medicine Service, there are lots of services throughout Torbay for young people which also offer a range of sexual health advice.
These services can offer information and advice, and will keep your conversation confidential, even if you are under 16.  This means that they will not tell anyone about the conversation they have with you, even if they are asked by someone in authority, unless you have given them permission to do so.
If you need more advice than they are able to give you, these services can also signpost you onwards and help you find the information you are looking for.   Here is a map of all local services.  You can also see your doctor (GP) or your school/college Nurse for sexual health and contraception advice.  Your doctor / Nurse will also keep your conversation confidential.
Young people under 25 can get free condoms, in Torbay.   This scheme is called the C-Card Scheme.  Condoms protect people from passing on sexually transmitted infections (STI).  The most common STI for  young people under 25 is Chlamydia. Condoms also prevent against unwanted pregnancy.
